‘The Modern Civil Advocate’ by Nalini J. Sharma is a new educational tool aimed at law students and indeed any lawyer     initiated into the world of civil litigation. The author examines the technique of cross-examination in an original way, by answering     questions frequently posed by students via the means of a lively discourse. The book also analyses different approaches     to negotiation and conducts an inquiry into specifics of written advocacy which the scholar may accept or adapt to his own needs.     This book is designed to be a thought-provoking guide and aims to enlarge the mind rather than propound any theory or give a     definitive answer. The author perceives the humour in real-life situations and this publication is sure to be a friendly companion to the     reader in his or her daily practice. They will relish the author’s fresh and practical approach to civil advocacy skills which are easily     transferable to and useful for all forms of modern dispute resolution.
